Product migration

Migrating Kofax Capture and KTM to TotalAgility

Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules (KTM) have run document capture for years at many organizations. Moving those solutions to TotalAgility keeps what works, retires what doesn’t, and puts you on the platform that is actively developed. We plan and carry out the migration so production keeps running.

Sound familiar?

Why teams put migration off, and why it can’t wait forever

  • Your Kofax Capture and KTM environment is aging, and you want to move before it becomes urgent.
  • Years of scripts and customizations make the migration look risky.
  • You want workflow, cloud deployment, or newer capabilities that TotalAgility supports.
  • The business can’t afford downtime during a cutover.

What we do

A migration that keeps production running

Migration is not a straight copy. Every environment carries years of batch classes, document types, rules, scripts, and exports. Some should move as they are, some should be redesigned, and some are no longer needed. We work through all of it with you before anything changes.

John knows these products from the inside: he was a Kofax engineer and holds Kofax certifications in Kofax Capture, Kofax Transformation Modules, and TotalAgility.

  • Inventory of batch classes, document types, validation rules, scripts, and exports
  • A migration plan: what moves as is, what gets redesigned, and what can be retired
  • Capture, classification, and extraction rebuilt in TotalAgility
  • Integrations and exports re-pointed to your business systems
  • Side-by-side testing on your real documents before cutover
  • A cutover plan that keeps production running
  • Documentation and training for your team

How it works

How a migration runs

  1. Inventory. We catalog everything in your Kofax Capture and KTM environment and how each piece is used.
  2. Plan. A written migration plan and timeline, agreed with you, including what to retire.
  3. Build and test side by side. The new TotalAgility solution runs alongside the old one on real documents until the results match or beat it.
  4. Cut over and hand over. A planned cutover, phased if that is safer, followed by documentation and knowledge transfer.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can you migrate KTM projects as well as Kofax Capture batch classes?

Yes. Most environments use both, and we migrate them together so capture, classification, and extraction land in TotalAgility as one solution.

Will we lose our customizations?

Not without a decision. We inventory every script, rule, and integration first, and decide with you which to carry over, which to rebuild in TotalAgility, and which are no longer needed.

How long does a migration take?

It depends on the number of batch classes, document types, and integrations. After the inventory, you get a written plan with a timeline.

Can we migrate in phases?

Yes, and it is often the safest approach: one process or department at a time, with the old and new systems running side by side.

We run a different capture product. Can you help?

Yes. We convert other capture products to TotalAgility or IBM Datacap. See all services.

How do we get started?

Book a 30-minute call or send us a note; we usually reply within one business day. Many clients begin with a Capture Health Check: a fixed-scope review with written findings and a prioritized plan, yours to keep whether or not you hire us for the work.
